Upcoming News

This school year has flown by, but here we are a mere three weeks until summer. It seems the closer we get the more excited I get for the upcoming release. Speaking of the summer release, we have a date, time and place! Make plans to meet us at the Ashville Library on June 29, 2018 at 1:00-4:00!

On one hand I can't wait to release the first instalment of our new series, Doofy Goes To School; on the other hand, I am so nervous. Everyone loved the original Doofy book. So many of you have asked (repeatedly) for more Doofy books. There is so much hype leading up to this next Doofy book, that I worry that it can't live up to expectations.

Personally, I love the idea that this series does address issues seen at school. I've been taking my cues from things I've seen my own students struggle with over the years. If my kids struggle surely there are more out there struggling to understand the same concepts. I've got a long list of social/emotional concepts to address in the Doofy Goes To School series, so if this first one wasn't what you were looking for, just wait for the next one, or better yet send some feedback on what type situation you would like to see addressed in the Doofy Goes To School series.

Another great thing about the Doofy Goes To School books is that they are written in no particular order, and can be read in any order you wish (once there are more than one released). In fact, The Bossy Goat was neither the first or last one I wrote in that series; rather, it was the one that Mama and Sandy randomly chose.

I am equally excited and nervous about the novel to be released this June, Red and the Big Bad . . . Wolf? I think I've mentioned before that if I'm going to leave reality, I want to really leave reality. I do, myself, read a good many shifter books, but my mother enjoys books a little more in the realm of possibility. I tend to believe that shifter books are more a take it or leave it type book. You either love it, or you hate it. At least that is what I did believe.

In addition to handling the business side of things, Mama is also my editor/proofer. As she read through Red and the Big Bad . . . Wolf? she found herself getting into it and eager to know what would happen next. If I could lure someone dead set against anything shifter over to the dark side, maybe this one too will go over well!
