Christmas is in the Air
I know that we have all looked around the stores and thought, "They're getting ready for Christmas already?" Well, at Yarbrough House Publishing, we have joined the frenzy!
There is so much to do in preparation for a book release, and when you want to get Christmas books out in time to be sold as Christmas gifts, you had better start early. My mother and I have been reading and rereading working our way through the editing process. Sandy is hard at work with illustrations and design work.
We hit a snafu when it came to a venue, but we are back on track with a venue that I think is going to be tremendous fun. I'm proud to announce that we'll be releasing two new books on November 12, 2017 at Roses and Lace in Ashville, Al.
It is such a beautiful place that it is worth the time just to come out to see the sights! Christmas, books, and a beautiful venue, what more could you ask for?
I am so excited about the books to be released too! We usually release two at a time, one children's book and one novel. Why break tradition when it works so well?
The children's book is both educational and emotional. It's one of those books that while, yes, it is a children's book, it can still speak right to the heart of young and old alike. I still struggle not to cry every single time I read it or hear it read. Nutcracker vs. Nutcracker is a book about two identical nutcrackers. One is a toy maker, Bernard, and the other is a toy theif, Seymour. When Seymour steals all Bernard's toys and with them his livelihood, people who he had shown kindness to in the past show up one by one to return the kindness he had shown. In the end Seymour looked through the window of the toy shop again, and this time he saw something he wanted much more than toys, friends. Friends weren't something that he could steal. He would have to change before he too could have friends.
The novel to be released in November is one that I have talked about several times in past blog posts. I guess by now, you can tell that I am excited about not just Attack On the Clause but the whole series. In a novel released last year, The Clause Rebellion, Santa's daughter, Wynter Clause, felt ignored and unimportant in the North Pole, so she ran away to the one place where no one would think to look for her, the South Pole. As unpredictable as the relocation was, it was also dangerous. The North and South Poles were stuck in the middle of a generations old feud. There was a lot of hate on both sides even though no one could even remember what started the feud in the first place. Wynter hid who she really was, but how long could she realistically hide something as strong as Clause magic?
In Attack On the Clause tensions finally come to a head. At last there is going to be some finality to the feud one way or the other, and Wynter Clause is caught in the middle between her family and the people she loved in the South Pole. Hate is a strong emotion, but so is love. Which one will prevail in the end?
There is more excitement yet to come in the Clause series, so be sure to get your copy of the first two books in the fun-filled series!
I can't wait for the book release party. We'll have good food, door prizes, and loads of fun! We'll see you there!
