Come One, Come All
It may not be the greatest show on earth, but it is sure to be great fun! On Saturday, September 2, 2017 there's going to be a blue grass festival at Horse Pens 40 in Steele, Al from 10:00-6:00. If you like blue grass music, music in general, or just hanging out and having fun you don't want to miss this event.
I am getting doubly excited since we are going to host a vendor booth while we are there, so look for us while you're there. Come by just to see our tent layout if nothing else. We have been hard at work painting display crates and more.
If you haven't read any of our books, you should definitely come by the booth! Our children's books are great for little ones. From an educator's perspective they are good discussion starters in your classroom. All of our children's books teach a life lesson.
Sugar, Sugar On a Stick is about a little girl who loves lollipops more than anything, or so she thinks. When she is faced with a choice between her family or lollipops, she learns that what we wants is not always what we need. What little one do you know who doesn't need that life lesson or a refresher in it? Right! All little ones could use it!
In Doofy the Hippo? Doofy wants to be more interesting, so he changes himself. But, were all his changes for the better, or will he wish he had been happy to be himself? Learning to be happy with who you are is a lesson that most of us could use, both children and adults alike.
The North Pole is caught unaware when a dazzling gold nutcracker with no face comes to Christmas Town in The Faceless Nutcracker. Everyone is so taken by the faceless nutcracker's beauty that they didn't notice the trouble he was up to. Will the damage he did in Christmas town ever be undone? A lesson that beauty is only skin deep, is an important lesson that everyone has to learn eventually. Isn't it better that your little one learn it early rather than the hard way later on?
Patriotism is an abstract concept that is very hard for little ones to grasp, and yet it's never too early to start teaching it. So, how do you teach it? How about with a fun colorful book from a firework's perspective? The Life of a Firework takes us along for the journey of one firework's life from shelf to explosive display of colors, tradition, and patriotism. Readers hear the firework describing his patriotism as well as the people watching; this is the perfect time to start a life long lesson in patriotism.
What about the adults? Don't we deserve a little fun too? Sure we do, so sit back and relax with a good book!
More Than Instinct is a who done it that will keep you guessing right up to the very end. My dad loved the surprise ending, and I am sure you will too. Ladies, if you're looking for a good romance, this book has it all. Kat has a past she doesn't remember, and Jackson has a past he didn't want to remember. When fate throws them together, they'll have to learn to work together to out run their past.
In Black & White things get complicated fast when finances go south for a secret branch of the CIA. The whole operation is very hush-hush. Neither local, state, nor federal authorities know anything about this top secret branch of the CIA. Most governmental officials know nothing at all, and very few CIA know about this branch. Shantelle is a secretary by title, but in reality she is so much more. Jayson has worked for this branch for over five years now. Both are dedicated to the job, but when things begin to go under and ridiculous demands are made, will they do whatever it takes to save their company?
The Clause Rebellion is a fun Christmas book that is the first installment in The Clause Series. You would think that being the daughter of Santa would be a dream come true, but you would be wrong. Wynter Clause is miserable. She wants to get away, so she goes to the one place where she knows no one will look for her, the South Pole. Unfortunately, everyone in the South Pole hates the Clauses. Hiding her true identity seems the only way to survive. Will Wynter be found out? Will the South Pole people accept her? Will Wynter ever step up to the duties that she left behind in the North Pole?
I have absolutely loved writing and rereading all of the Clause books up to this point. They are high spirited, fun, and interwoven with more of those life lessons if you'll pay close attention. If you like the fun world of fantasy-fiction, then you'll love this series.
Don't forget that in addition to the fun filled books, there is also music and fun to be found at Horse Pens 40 that day, so we'll see you there!
