For The Love of Writing
I saw a quote on Pinterest by Ray Bradbury. I don't even know who he is or what he does, but his quote was an encouraging one. He said, "You fail only if you stop writing." Oh, I hope that's true.
I'd love to tell you that I keep fanning the flames of success by throwing money at it; except, that's not completely honest. There's not really a flame yet, more like an ember, the promise of a flame. Unfortunately the money part is true.
I want to believe that if i just keep writing , Yarbrough House Publishing will never fail. Ah, to dream big.
Logic tells you, though, that somewhere along the way talent, creativity, originality, subject knowledge, and even marketing knowledge have to play a role.
I'm smart enough not to spend money I don't have, and in the end, I still have my writing for nothing more than the love of writing. If the books quit selling and no one else enjoys by books as much as I do, I still enjoy writing books. It's fun, relaxing, and a great stress reliever.
I always feel like I'm running in ten different directions, and while people assume that teaching preschool is all fun and games, there's is nothing frilly about teaching preschool these days. All teachers are held to a high standard and must show accountability. Because we are still trying to prove the importance of learning during the early years, preschool teachers are held to an even greater level of excellence and accountability. That's why you need something that is just for you, something you love doing.
For me, that's writing. I love writing! It's a chance to let go of my own stress and tell someone else's story for a change. That story can be as complicated or as simple as I want. It can be fanciful or realistic. It can be anything I can dream up.
I hope you enjoy my books as much as I do! If you haven't read any of them, check us out. We are on Facebook, Elizabeth Lee Sorrell; Pinterest, Yarbrough House Publishing, inc., and of course our website ElizabethLeeSorrell.com
