More Christ for Christmas

Any faithful followers may have noticed by now that this blog is either very late or very early considering I normally blog on Saturday rather than Wednesday. This past Saturday, however, was extremely busy. My mother and I were out buying last minute gifts for angels that had not been taken off the tree for Ashville Community Mission, picking up more gifts that had been dropped off at Piggly Wiggly, and sorting them all out into the families they went to.
It is exhausting work! You don't do it because it's fun; you do it for the kids! This year we had a very blessed turn out. The people who took angels really bought up a storm this year. We even had extra toys donated to give to whichever families could use them! The parents were so appreciative some even coming all the way back after loading cars and trucks just to thank us again, and our kids got so much this year! They are sure to have a Merry Christmas, but that's not what Christmas is really about.
We all know that it is better to give than to receive, but how many people stop to think about what Christmas really means? Christmas, in Spanish mas means more. More of Christ, I don't believe that could possibly be a coincidence. Christmas is literally Jesus Christ's birthday. Why on earth wouldn't it be more about Christ than any other day?
There is nothing politically correct about Christmas. NOTHING! People can try to their heart's content, but there will never be anything politically correct about Christmas. It is a Christian holiday. If you don't want to participate, you have that right, but we also have the right to celebrate without others' dictating how we do it. We will focus more on Christ, because that is our right!
So, when you wake up on Christmas morning, remember to keep December 25th all about more Christ.
