Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving y'all! I hope everyone enjoyed spending time with family and friends or just relaxing with a little hard earned vacation time.
In a world that has seemed to go crazy, we still have so much to be thankful for each day. I spent this week with family in North Carolina, and I loved the chance we had for everyone to be together again. I know that I personally have so much to be thankful about, but let's not forget about our freedoms.
We live in a country where we are free to speak our minds voicing our opinions, a country where our every move is not dictated to us. We are free to choose our own future. It is amazing to me that as a teacher, I am still free to pursue other things as well. I am a teacher. I am a nursery coordinator at my church, and I am a self published writer. I wasn't forced into a vocation of the government's choosing; neither was I restricted to only one.
What an advantage authors in America have too! It can be a long, hard, trying process to get published by an established publishing company, but self publishing is getting easier everyday. I am thankful that here in America that the pursuit of happiness is not just allowed but encouraged. If you want something badly enough, you only have to get up and make it happen with a little hard work.
Did you know that today is small business day? How huge is that for us as Americans? It is the American dream. Is it not? So, get out today and show your support for small businesses.
